In light of you learning about this new “single” you are also welcome to know about Wreckages forthcoming slab of sonic excess “SELF IN ALL” to be released may 24th on the most god touched format of music you collect like Pokémon cards … the 7”… only from the SCHEME MUSIC GROUP:
We got a couple two tree new stickers on that good good vinyl…..featuring a design by Japan gawd YO YO TOME:
SCENE REPORT:
Echo Chamba records should be arriving to da European homefront (aka DBNO HQ) the day of this writing (unless UPS lied to me), so there will be no picz of the finished product but !SOON! Our copies are currently braving the Atlantic via the finest of air freight and will be arriving to us in short time. We will probably toss a couple extra of the bubblegum pink copies on the store in a couple days once we get em out to the Scheme foot clan members that are due for a copy. You, the loyal schemer reading this, will be the first to know othawise tho.
Collateral 7”s are all basically shipped out and were packed while watching the newest Amazon Prime original series, such as The Boys and Fallout. Shout outs to Karl Urban Discipline and describing the Fallout series as Skyrim but Nu Metal to Lumpy Daze twelve years ago when the only video game he had ever played was Madden 2012 and Skyrim.
The social calendar is bursting this weekend… well if you live in the hyper civilization of the regional north east. For the souls who have a high vibrational energy (ADHD from pre teen cellphone use) you have your pick of seeing Wreckage and From Within Omaha1 branches “Lead Spirit” in either Kingston (New York), Lake Como (New Jersey), Holyoke and Sunny West Haven. A hardcore weekend, a unifying experience for every fortunate soul who walks through the door.
For those with collections of crumbling sneakers and piles of valueless paper goods stacked to your ceiling…good news! the New York Art Book Fair is in town once again. A grand old song of an event that exists as the nexus point between a triumph of paper craft and the case study to ban all “art” in every form. All harmless chiding aside, it’s a great event if you’re someone who’s looking to have your niche literary interest tickled but the real motherfuckers know to seek out both the SHINING LIFE PRESS and the DEMYSTIFICATION tables like an oasis in the Sahara. Both institutions serve the cause as both Mecca and the library of Alexandria. Knowledge and devote faith in subculture defined. If you’re either looking to have your mind enlightened a little bit or seek the comfort the BOLD summer tour zine…22nd ST NYC Friday - Sunday is where to be.

Yo, what’s up it’s Billy from Heads Will Roll. I went to Japan with my girlfriend Jenna and my best (emo) friends KOYO and all their girlfriends and wife. I haven’t written anything outside of lyrics in over a decade. I had a C- grade average in high school so shit might read a little weird so don’t be a nerd about it and it will be aight4. Shit was mad fucking crazy from start to finish. Got to check out Tokyo Yokohama Osaka and Kyoto.
First night in Tokyo got to see Japan legends LOYAL TO DA GRAVE at the iconic venue Antiknock. Got to shoot the breeze with some Tokyo hardcore heads about our respective scenes. Blew my mind how much these guys know about LIHC history. Topped off a perfect night with some spaghetti from Wendy’s and really cheap whisky.
Anyways, the next two days Koyo were in some other city so I balled super hard and booked us a room at the hotel where they filmed Lost In Translation and explored all the dope shit in Tokyo. After a beautiful morning of watching fucked Japanese game shows, swimming in the craziest pool ever and wondering around Tokyo eating dope ramen it was finally time to see a real piece of Tokyo history: NERDS RECORDS.
Even if you’ve never been to Japan you know what the fuck I’m talking about. Walking up those steps after chugging a whiskey infused coke I bought at Lawsons helped heighten the surrealist nature of this moment. Shout out to the hardcore legend Hiro for having a copy the Scheme comp on stand by for me to take a picture with. Pretty fucked up that im taking a pic with a record I play on while os LIHC beatdown PSYCHO ENHANCER played over the speakers. I really was on some Bill Murray shit with this one.
After two days of drinking $1.36 USD bottles of whiskey and wondering around Tokyo at all kinds of weirds hours I went to a sumo tournament. 20000 or so people were there and the crowd was hot. One of the funnest sporting events I've been to. America could also learn a thing or two about the cost of alcohol at Japan sporting events. I also may or may not have smoked w**d on the roof a building after a show in Yokohama and ate cheese covered dumpling while I may or may not have been twisted off my ass. Got insanely hammered with my friends Spanos and Jill and went to some fucking crazy arcades and got Wendy’s spaghetti for a 2nd time.
One the coolest parts of the trip was all the local hardcore bands and people I got to meet. Two of the best sets I saw over there were NUMB and BLOW YOUR BRAINS OUT (maybe the best band name ever?). Being able to shoot the shit with Senta from NUMB about Long Island bands no one outside of my beautiful island should know about was fucking dope. Despite neither of us speaking each other’s languages, Kai of BYBO and I were able to form a friendship by name dropping old NYHC bands5 we fuck with while doing shots of whiskey was the dopest shit. I don’t have the space to name everyone but in addition to those already named special shoutout to everyone from HOLLOW SUNS, LOYAL TO THE GRAVE, Mizuki Ice Grills and Hiro for all being to Jenna and while we were over there.
Did a lot of dope hiking in Kyoto that included watching a wild monkey jack off. Saw TERROR in Osaka and sang some BOB MARLEY and SLAYER at karaoke. Japan is a really special country that America could learn a lot from like convenience stores selling fresh fried chicken and keeping public spaces clean and not blocking up the escalators. I can say for a fact that the best dumpling I've ever had were in Shinjuku at 3am and the ramen is fucking insane.
Only negative is the fast food in America is better overall in my opinion because ours is much more greasy and filled with MSG and other preservatives that the Japanese are missing out on. I did enjoy the Wendy’s spaghetti a great deal and while I prefer my grand slamwich, Japan Denny’s steak was delicious. Japan McDonald’s is mid besides the ghost pepper nuggets. The shrimp o fish was good but not something I can eat regularly. Japanese Burger King was straight up dog shit.
Thanks for reading. Much love to Koyo for letting us tag along and explore Japan together. I can’t wait to go back to Japan one day!
Shout out the gawdZ Connor Oberst n Tim Kasher
