SEARCH FOR PURPOSE 12" AND TAPE OUT NOW
03/22/22
SEARCH FOR PURPOSE speaks for themselves, it’s Carolina Straight Edge hardcore. They weren't a tidal wave but more a slow rolling storm poised to make their point known whether to 100 people or just one. With an emphasis on the lyrics actually meaning something and channeling influence from LP era TURNING POINT and LIFETIMEs ‘Background’ they created a record that should stand as more than just a flicker of light in a dark time.
Releasing a 7" on Ugly and Proud Records and the ‘Eternal Emotion’ LP via Plead Your Case and Exact Change, the original pressing of the aforementioned LP was mired with unexpected delays and was released posthumously, with MAGNITUDE becoming the focus and SEARCH FOR PURPOSE quietly falling to the backburner.
‘Eternal Emotion (Repurposed)’ 12” is a total redux of that LP with a revamped layout and updated artwork - featuring re-recorded instruments and a total overhaul of the mixing and mastering, giving the songs a formally missing power that was so evidently there just waiting to be released.
‘Unseen / Casting Shadows’ CS was written and recorded in the past year during the same period that Eternal Emotion was being reworked on; bringing the same drive and dedication to two new songs to match the energy.
You might ask yourself while reading this: what’s the point of re-releasing a hardcore record that came out four years ago? To put it simply: this record isn't meant to serve as an ego boost or nostalgia trip for those involved with it but as something that hardcore should be reminded of - giving shine to something we view as a diamond in the rough who never got their fair shake.
These records were manufactured and shipped to us in around five weeks and are in-hand now so you won’t have to wait months to receive your record. Some copies of the record will be for sale at the From Within Records Showcase in Philadelphia this weekend.
Finally, we have some copies of the ALMIGHTY WATCHING 7” on Clear in our store now. These will be mostly exclusive to the bands shows, but if you’re unable to attend one – this will be your sole shot to cop.
